The Story Behind TN Exam Tools
The journey of TN Exam Tools began when our founders noticed a recurring, frustrating problem faced by thousands of aspirants in rural Tamil Nadu. Capable candidates preparing for competitive exams were struggling to submit their applications online simply because they could not format their documents correctly. Releasing instructions like '3.5cm x 4.5cm dimension, between 20KB and 50KB, with name and date printed on the bottom' created an artificial barrier.
To submit their applications, many candidates were forced to travel to town centers and pay internet cafes (browsing centres) anywhere from ₹50 to ₹200 just to crop a photo and signature. For candidates from low-income families, this was a significant financial burden. We realized that this process could be completely automated and made free. We developed a lightweight, smartphone-friendly web tool that performs these complex calculations locally in the browser, eliminating the need for expensive external help.
What started as a simple resizing script for TNPSC has since evolved into a comprehensive digital portal supporting dozens of recruitment boards, entrance exams, and certificate compressors. We take immense pride in knowing that our tools have helped hundreds of thousands of aspirants submit their forms accurately, bringing them one step closer to their public service dreams.
Who Runs TN Exam Tools?
TN Exam Tools is owned, built, and maintained by an independent group of software engineers, open-source contributors, and educators based in Tamil Nadu. Our team shares a common vision: using technology to democratize access to education and public employment resources. We are not associated with or endorsed by any government department or recruitment board.
To guarantee absolute accuracy and compliance, we manually track all official recruitment notifications, exam schedules, and hall ticket instructions directly from the government gazettes and official boards (including TNPSC, TNUSRB, TRB, and others). When guidelines change, we update our local image compression templates within hours. This rigorous manual verification process ensures our users can trust the templates to be compliant and up to date at all times.
